Annual salary: up to £28,186.33 Commercial Administrator Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday Salary: £28,186.33 + company benefits Join us on our new, exciting contract in Birmingham! Mears Group is delivering a long-term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across Birmingham. The contract includes diverse workstreams including responsive repairs, planned maintenance and compliance services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment. Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Commercial Administrators, located in our central Birmingham office. About the Role We’re looking for a Commercial Administrator to join our team, focusing on responsive repairs support. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day administrative functions across our operations, ensuring all processes run smoothly and in line with company procedures. This role involves working closely with colleagues, clients, and service users to deliver accurate, timely and professional support. You’ll be responsible for handling communications, managing purchase orders and invoices, maintaining records, and ensuring customer experience remains central to everything we do. Role Responsibilities Supporting administrative tasks across local operations and internal departments Recording and responding to client and service user communications Managing materials requisitions, purchase orders, and invoicing processes Inputting cost data to enable timely completion and billing of work orders Communicating with service users regarding ongoing works Liaising with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information is shared Maintaining company assets in line with policy and reporting any damages Attending meetings and training sessions as required Upholding high standards of professionalism, health & safety, and customer care Key Criteria Experience in a commercial environment, ideally within the social housing sector Proven ability to manage administrative processes accurately and efficiently Comfortable working to deadlines in a busy office setting Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills Confident using computerised systems and Microsoft Office applications Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong customer service ethos with a professional approach to all interactions Ability to liaise effectively with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions as required Commitment to maintaining high standards of health & safety and company procedures Benefits: Fantastic working environment within a new office, located just outside Birmingham city centre 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Family friendly policies including enhanced maternity (14 weeks full pay, 12 weeks half pay and 13 weeks statutory pay), paternity (2 weeks full pay) and adoption leave Employee Assistance Programme - free confidential support and counselling available Mears Rewards offering discounts and cashback at leading retailers including travel, household items and shopping Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work!
