Job description
Role Overview: We’re looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Liberty Brand team. You’ll work with the Merchandiser, Buying and Operations to drive sales and margin through stock optimisation, planning, forecasting and trading, using data to make sure the right products are available in the right place at the right time. You’ll be numerate, analytical and detail-focused, with merchandising experience in fast-paced luxury retail. You’ll communicate confidently, be comfortable with data and systems, and be passionate about the Liberty customer. Key Responsibilities: Own continuity stock replenishment, setting Open to Buy (OTB) in line with the sales forecast and key stock metrics. Be accountable for key stock metrics, making sure they are accurately measured and achieved: never out of stock targets, pareto analysis, aged stock, availability targets, ISNOS, cover and lost sales. Work across functions to maximise availability and replenishment levels across all channels, based on demand. Support the Merchandiser with sales, stock, intake and margin planning, helping to build accurate forecasts. Maintain accurate WSSI forecasts and sell-through and sales forecasts, review BTA position, and escalate risks and opportunities. Compile analysis and insight to help shape department strategy. Use internal and external resources to identify risks and opportunities, and know which levers to pull to meet and beat business KPIs. Partner with the Buying team to manage OTB and risk effectively, and engage the right people so the right action is taken. Own markdowns and promotions at brand and line level, driving sell-through and minimising terminal stock. Manage the price change process, making sure products are priced appropriately for the market and intake margins stay in line with budget. Work with Operations and Logistics to make sure stock processes, including returns (RTVs), price changes, intake forecasts and transfers, are planned and executed efficiently. Use data, reporting tools and systems to share clear, accurate insight, and help develop, test and roll out new tools. Manage, train and develop the Merchandise Administrator, overseeing day-to-day tasks and priorities, with guidance from the Merchandiser. Support the senior team by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions that add value. About You Previous merchandising experience within a fast-paced luxury retail environment Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail Confidence using merchandising systems, data and reporting tools to inform decisions A genuine appreciation of the Liberty brand and its customer, with the ability to bring this into commercial decision-making Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to share insights and flag risks and opportunities A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and act to support sales, stock and margin targets Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and work collaboratively with a wider team Experience supporting, coaching or developing a junior team member is desirable Liberty is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and opposes all forms of unlawful discrimination.
