Job description

Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there. We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe. We are looking for a Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our Service Delivery team, covering London & the South East or the Midlands. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, inspection, and fault resolution on fire alarm systems across our growing portfolio of residential, commercial, and public sector clients. This is a field-based role where the quality of your work and the accuracy of your certification matter on every visit. If you take pride in your craft, hold yourself to a high standard, and want to be part of a team genuinely committed to saving lives — read on. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839 and client requirements, ensuring all works are completed accurately and on programme. Respond to reactive call-outs, diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and effectively to minimise system downtime. Produce accurate, fully compliant service records and certification after every visit, ensuring documentation meets BS 5839 and client standards. Carry out commissioning and handover of new fire alarm installations, completing all test records and certification to the required standard. Identify defects, remedial requirements, and system upgrades, communicating findings clearly to clients and the Service team. Maintain your van stock, test equipment, and tools to the required standard at all times. Liaise with clients, building managers, and site contacts professionally, representing Harmony’s brand with confidence. Complete all job management system entries accurately and on time, including time logging, parts usage, and site notes. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency callout rota as required. An A-player mindset — high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time. Proven hands-on experience maintaining and servicing fire alarm systems to BS 5839. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of fire alarm panel types and manufacturers. Experience producing compliant service records, commissioning documentation, and certification. Comfortable working independently across a regional patch, managing your own diary and travel schedule. Strong attention to detail — accurate and thorough in service documentation and certification. Professional and clear communicator — comfortable engaging with clients and site contacts. Full UK driving licence. FIA, ECS, or equivalent industry qualification (preferable).
